YMCA Trail Blazers is a family program designed for a dad (or other significant male) and son that have graduated from the Adventure Guides program.

Maybe you’re just not ready to give this up yet. You are not alone. We are here for you! The Ridgewood YMCA Trail Blazers is designed for boys in the 5th grade and up and their fathers. We offer more challenging and varied experiences, while continuing to teach leadership and responsibility. It is however, less ceremonial. Historically, the Trail Blazers are a core group of fathers and sons who continue on, strengthening the family and fostering the relationship between father and son through various activities and outings. We have monthly meetings, at least one outing a month and we will bring you 3 exciting weekend adventures each year. Trail Blazers also have a reputation for eating well. We cook and we do it right! The facilities are outstanding and often times you can leave the sleeping bags at home. Just like in Guides, there is a lot to do and you have the choice of doing it all or doing just a few events. Some destinations we go to like the Air Force Museum are done every other year.

Another important thing about our organization is that in addition to the normal yearly dues paid to the YMCA, there is an additional $20 operations fee per family paid to the Trail Blazers. No fundraisers!
We hope you will consider joining us! If so, please complete the standard Ridgewood YMCA Registration Form with payment to: “Ridgewood YMCA.” Then make your $20 OPS Fee payment with check made payable to “Trail Blazers” and mail to:
